Spike the Echidna is a delightful and enchanting theatre experience for children, brought to life by the acclaimed performance company Little Wing Puppets.
Told through captivating shadow puppetry and live theatre, Spike shares the heartfelt story of a young echidna who is stolen from his nest and hatches far from home. Lost, frightened and without his spikes, Spike meets a young girl who is also feeling lonely after being bullied. Together, they embark on a gentle adventure as she tries to work out where Spike belongs — accidentally placing him in some very dangerous situations along the way.
As the story unfolds, Spike discovers his place in the world, while the young girl finds her own “spikes” — learning courage, resilience and how to stand up for herself.
With interactive moments for the audience and lively original music by Mal Webb, Spike the Echidna is a warm, imaginative performance celebrating friendship, belonging and inner strength.
